During January and February, our Year 5 and 6 Football team competed in the football league competitions, as well as the football festival, at Mountbatten School. During the league matches they achieved several wins and some draws . This meant that they were placed into the A league at the football festival just before half term. The Wellow team played 5 games in total, winning 3 and losing 2. Everyone played brilliantly as a team, with goalkeeper, defence and midfield battling for the ball to give attacking opportunities. Louie scored a hatrick in one of the games and in another, Ben scored a goal from the halfway line! Overall the team achieved 3rd place and were very pleased with their bronze medals. A superb team effort – congratulations to all of you!
