Year 3 and 4 Netball Festival

image

Well done to our fabulous Year 3 and 4 netball team, who took part in the Netball Festival at Mountbatten School on Friday 19th May. The whole team played brilliantly together, demonstrating excellent defending and attacking skills. They played ‘High Fives ‘ netball, which means that they changed position every game. This enabled everyone to have a go at shooting, defending and playing centre but did require a lot of concentration! The children rose to the challenge well, adapting their skills to the different positions. Congratulations to our team who came 7th overall.

Kwik Cricket Stars!

On Friday 5th May, Wellow competed in the A league of the Kwik Cricket festival at Mountbatten School. The Wellow team consisted of Alfie from Year 6 and George H, Louie, Ben, George H, George T, Eleanor, Eve and Anna from Year 5. Louie, Alfie, George and Ben started by bowling accurately and took many wickets which resulted in the opposition losing 5 runs for each wicket taken. They were helped by fantastic fielding from the rest of the team. Wellow also scored lots of runs which resulted in them winning 5 of the 6 games they played. Overall they finished second which was a wonderful achievement and the children were thrilled with their winning medals. Well done to the team!

Superb Cross Country Results

A huge congratulations to all of the children who took part in the Romsey Schools cross country competitions. As always so many of our children took part and should be very proud of their achievements. You all contributed towards your age group scores and our overall school score. Our children were very successful in both the team and individual competitions:

Overall for KS1 and 2, Wellow School came a fantastic 2nd place!
Year 5 and 6 girls team -1st Place!
Year 3 and 4 boys team – 1st Place!
Year 3 and 4 girls team – 2nd Place!

Individual results – to achieve an individual placing the children must have competed in at least 3 races. Over the whole league, at least 30 children took part in each of the races, so these are fantastic results!

Tri Golf Festival

Well done to all the Key Stage 2 children who took part in the tri-golf festival last Friday. Our teams putted and chipped their way around the courses with skill and enthusiasm, taking on challenges such as ‘Bullseye’ and ‘ Dominoes’. Our Year 5/6 team came 5th overall and the Year 3/4 team came 4th, narrowly missing out on the bronze medal position by 1 point! Congratulations all of you!
